Make a duplicate of the skirt’s waistband using interlining. Make a 14-cm-high duplicate of the underskirt using interlining.

Use interlinings to strengthen the waistband.

Sewing

Main skirt

Sew the front and back’s center seams. Sew the zipper into the seam on the left side. Sew the seams on the sides. Sew the waistband in place. Sew the hem allowance by hand using a blind stitch after ironing it to the wrong side.

Underskirt

Sew the front and back center seams, and sew the right side side seam. Sew the waistband in place. Iron the belt’s allowances, fold it in half, and iron the incorrect side inward.

We spread the belt out fully once more. Stitch the belt’s zipper starting from the top, or the ironed fold.

Topstitch the inner portion of the belt after basting it just above the stitching seam.

Sew the left side’s side seam.

Pleated

How to sew

Using a common fabric, we stitch the pleated panels together by going along the inner folds of the folds. We simultaneously captured two layers of material by overcasting the seam allowances. On a long panel, we count from 55 to 63 folds and indicate where the outer seam begins. We trim away any extra material, leaving a space.

Straightening the folds with our hands, we baste or pin the decorative tape 24 cm from the bottom. On the tape, we sew. Below the tape, we use an iron to repair the folds.

The panel’s final seam is sewn.

The yoke’s short edges are sewn. Its lower edge is overcast by us.

To equalize the length of the upper cut of the panel and the lower cut of the yoke, we shift and sew away the folds on the upper edge of the panel. Positioning the panel on the yoke, we step back 4 cm from its base. After pinning or basting the panel, we move 2.5 cm away from the top and adjust it to the yoke.

After sewing the elastic band’s ends together, measure its length to ensure that it equals FROM. Iron the top edge of the yoke’s seam allowance to the incorrect side. The elastic band is stretched, positioned beneath the upper edge of the yoke, and adjusted so that it sticks out 2 mm or so above the top of the yoke.
